In both story capture and story telling, we want to be at the forefront of what is possible. The team will be constantly researching and innovating the ways in which we can further our work and capabilities at the centre…
SCIENCE AND RESEARCH
Alongside an Ocean Surface Centre, we are keen to be active in engineering, filming and researching. The workshop built alongside the OSC, will allow us to expand the optical filming capabilities that the venue has. A regular installation at the venue will be the ability to livestream plankton samples, through our optical bench and digital screen.
OSCs will be heavily invested in supporting ocean content capture, and staying at the forefront of what stories can be told. With the incredible contributory team supporting any OSC venue, a world leading archive is already owned. It is important that we don't rest, but ensure that the archive continues to grow both in depth, breadth and new stories...
In reinvesting within our team, we will ensure that more topical stories taking place across our ocean are captured, edited and shared at an OSC venue. In doing so we can ensure that a centre truly is at the forefront of marine biological science. It is these topical stories that captivate a global audience in documentaries and movies such as Blue Planet. We want to translate those incredible stories into real life experiences that truly inspire...
The team has a history of innovating in the filming industry, holding a number of technical awards in the area. Through experience, and existing contacts we are keen to keep expanding the filming side of the OSC. In doing so growing our archive even further...
We are already in talks with a number of individuals and institutes on how the filming capabilities at the OSC can be best utilised and shared amongst our network of cameraman, filmmakers and scientists.

OPTICAL BENCH AND LIVE FILMING
The team through past work have filmed some of the incredible planktonic species we have living in our oceans. OSCs will continue documenting the otherwise invisible world through an Optical Bench Rig. A piece of unique filming equipment that will allow us to tell stories otherwise unseen and capture detail in the biological world invisible to the naked human eye. This content could be livestreamed to displays throughout a venue...
