STORY LED, TECHNOLOGY BACKED

At the OSC we believe in using the right tools to tell the story and engage its audience. If the audience isn’t engaged then they wont take away the stories and help our oceans, its as simple as that. When an audience is entertained, the education follows without resistance. In order to do this we will be implementing Immersive media in order to tell the most fascinating stories.

VARIETY UNLIKE ANY OTHER

Of the millions of incredible stories being enacted across the Ocean Surface every day, our mission is to corral some of the most exciting, relevant and sometimes surprising. These range from micro-organisms who have a massive impact on our environment, through birds with unimaginable stamina, fish with bizarre characteristics and behaviours, mammals who survive challenging conditions against all odds and invertebrates so strange that they seem like they have come from another planet.

Taken together, these creatures represent the most diverse, extensive and important ecosystem on our planet which is often overlooked.

IMMERSIVE MEDIA

Immersive media, allows people to interact with the content on another level. In support of more passive entertainment through a video or series of images, our immersive media can create an environment which allows the audience to control the stories that are being displayed.

The team has experience in creating real life experiences to tell ocean stories through both VR and AR technology. Through these experiences, the OSC hopes to share a multitude of stories be it the lifecycle of an otherwise unknown ocean creature, or personal anecdotes from our team of contributors - Gerry pranking colleagues with the help of an angry reef fish, Peter getting stuck on a Manta Ray or Howard making friends with a Grey Whale on the seafloor for 4 hours, to name a few of the possibilities...

LIVE VIEWINGS

Alongside our various methods of story telling, will be live viewings of the local aliens found south of our Harbour in Charlestown. Be it by RIB or drone, we will regularly collect, identify, film and share via live feed, the planktonic community found in our local seas...
